ARTISTAS

The diverse sonic worlds that Carmen Villain has built over her career are shaped by her natural curiosity of sound. Her music hits a sweet spot between dub's blunt rhythmic lilt and cosmic fourth world, with snatches of instruments such as the flute, voice and clarinet creating evocative granul soundscapes and melodies. Her most recent studio album, Only Love From Now On, was released to critical acclaim, landing on several end of year lists, including Pitchfork and Resident Advisor, with the latter calling it “a masterpiece of jazz-informed ambient and downtempo.” Last year she released Music from The Living Monument, with selections from the score she composed for Eszter Salamon’s contemporary dance performance for the Norwegian National contemporary dance company, Carte Blanche. Carmen has brought her atmospheric live performance to venues and festivals such as Berlin Atonal, ICA London, Dekmantel and Mutek. She has often invited luminaries and like minds for collaboration and reworks, including Actress, Arve Henriksen, Biosphere, Huerco S and rRoxymore. Carmen Villain is half Norwegian, half Mexican, and lives in Oslo.

Donato Dozzy:
Few DJs and producers are as widely and universally acclaimed in techno circles as Italian Donato Dozzy. He has a rare ability to work his way into peoples' minds in both contemporary and classical settings, conjuring real mood and atmosphere. Never one to pay heed to the zeitgeist, he prefers to deal in hypnotic soundscapes that really take you on a trip.
Enigmatic as he is, and laidback as he seems, as an artist he is constantly unveiling new work. Displaying a large variation in terms of sound and method across many new releases each year--some of which come on his co-owned label Spazio Disponibile--he also puts out installations for public spaces and museums, uses obscure musical instruments, collaborates with likeminded producers, classical singers or visual artists. Donato seems to continuously challenge himself on a creative level: whatever method he uses, though, he is always likely to permeate your cerebral cortex and rewire it in fascinating and compelling new ways.
Patrick Russell:
Being raised in the Detroit techno and house scenes will leave a mark. Exposed to this fertile, creative landscape on a weekly basis, experiencing DJs like Mike Huckaby, Theo Parrish, Claude Young, and Jeff Mills taught Patrick Russell the utmost importance of music selection, storied programming, and technical excellence, all of which he has continued to tirelessly hone over decades.
Currently based in Brooklyn, NY, Patrick has achieved numerous career milestones: multiple Mix Of The Year awards from Resident Advisor and Vice; an Art Of DJing feature on RA; a residency at the esteemed Mostra festival in Barcelona; the honor of yearly appearances at festivals in Japan such as Labyrinth, Rural, and Paramount; and presenting long-format narrative sets of up to 24 hours, just to name a few.
Along with playing the most prestigious events around the globe, he continues to deliver rich, sonic experiences back home—as an original resident of the legendary No Way Back events, a resident at The Bunker New York, and gracing every stage at the DEMF/Movement festival in Detroit, including a featured Main Stage appearance in 2024.
Equally at home in the studio, Patrick has created dozens of unique remixes and is in increasingly high demand for his renowned productions. He is constantly editing and re-working older material, ranging from acid to disco to IDM, to include in his sets and challenge the definition of what’s possible—whether it’s on the dance floor or in an experimental listening set, he will stretch the limits of your imagination and rewire the way you think about music.

Fjäder aka Ida Matsdotter, is a Sweden based artist and producer. Influenced by shamanism, science, astrology and forces of nature, Fjäder has developed a deep hypnotic enthralling sound of her own.
Besides the devotion for the monotone vibe of techno, her palette ranges further. Inspired by the surroundings, she moves between black and doom metal influences to ambient, including features such as poetic elements, vocals and field recordings.
Regardless of genre, it is fascinating the way Fjäder connects nature and technology. How she perceives vibrations in universe and transform them into new soundscapes by playing with frequencies, textures, layers and filters.
Through her music Fjäder creates new dimensions and realities. The listener get caught directly, the mind looses track of time and space, floating around in new directions, but when least expecting it, the listener wakes up from the hypnosis and reaches consciousness.
Expanding the universe of minds, Fjäder also has the gift of reaching out and connect to the listener when playing. Using the glow and passion for music, she creates a unique vibe present throughout her set.
Regardless of style, DJ- or live set, Fjäder clearly shows the musician inside her, always true to her own heart, she pushes herself and reaches new levels by experimenting with filters, energies, atmospheres, moods, genres and temper.
Amazed by vibrations and the broad repertoire, the listener gets caught in motion, trapped and released simultaneously, from beginning until end.

KONDUKU
A percussive yet atmospheric sound, Konduku’s minimalist approach to hi-energy dance music. Majoring for the likes of Nous’klaer – a label he’s most commonly associated with – to releases with Delsin’s Mantis Series, DJ Nobu’s Bitta label, and his celebrated Parlama EP for Spazio Disponibile – Konduku delivers an undeniable sonic pattern of uptempo, liquid and polyrhythmic groove. Having relocated to Berlin, curious time signatures and rhythmic pulse remain a priority of his DJ sets, and the artist’s ability to stand out comes through an alluring ability to blend & layer sounds that conjure up otherworldly hypnotisms and radical new hybrids in the process.
Taking in UK bass culture to his sound, turn-of-the-century tech house andmid-2000s Italian techno, it’s an obsession for drums – and a wider scope for what falls between – that gives Konduku a rare, outsider’s edge.
A major musical talent full of artistic influence, Konduku’s sound and style not only inspires but lives long in the memory.
MATTIKK
Amsterdam based Mattikk is known for his genre-bending, hypnotic and rhythm focused dj sets. He has hosted radio shows for multiple years via Red Light Radio and RRFM Amsterdam showcasing his experimental selections within ambient and down-tempo techno while his club sets are a wild melting pot of dark and rhythmic, bass heavy grooves exploring all depths of techno and electro. To explore his musical ideas further Mattikk also curates the Mantis series as part of Delsin Records, where he presents an exciting branch of deep techno and electronics featuring artists like Forest Drive West, Konduku, Katatonic Silentio, Lemna and Dino Sabatini.

Peverelist’s sharp, ear-catching style as a DJ and producer has placed him at the vanguard of forward-thinking club music.
His unique take on the soundsystem tradition draws on techno, jungle, dub, grime and garage in pursuit of a sound that’s uplifting and innovative.
From his early releases and first label Punch Drunk through to the establishment of Livity Sound in 2011, Pev’s helped represent Bristol’s ever-evolving independent electronic music scene internationally. More than a decade in, Livity Sound now stands as one of the key global benchmarks for a hybridised dance music which draws on inventive approaches to rhythm and melody.
Through successive albums and EPs Pev’s developed a singular production style which balances delicacy and spaciousness with maximum presence, while his DJing teases the edge between horizon-expanding new music and a keen instinct for what makes people move. If there is such a thing as a ‘Livity’ sound, it stems from this artistic approach.
Unbound by genre, exploring percussive patterns and holding true to the fundamental principles of great soundsystem music, Pev’s trajectory continues to bring us untold surprises from the cutting edge.

Refracted’s music feels as fundamentally human as it sounds otherworldly. It
is techno more as an idea and conduit, than as an easily- labeled sound. It is
dance music where layered rhythms act almost on a neural, sub epidermal
level, while moving and evolving soundscapes acquire a tactile, understated
physicality. Paramount examples of this can be found on releases on
Refracted’s own Mind Express label, and on celebrated labels like Bitta,
PoleGroup, Semantica, Sublunar and Canadian ambient/deep-techno imprint
Silent Season.
With his path unraveling further, his sound has evolved beyond just techno,
becoming a conduit for exploring the boundaries of experimental and drone
music.
Spiritual, almost meditative, his sets also possess a strong kinetic energy
when needed, which is a clear indication of a DJ who knows the fundamental
role of dancing as part of the ritual. He wants to take us somewhere, the
“where” being of our own choosing, the trail never being the most travelled.

Amsterdam’s Sandrien is known for her versatile take on techno. From deep and atmospheric to high-energy breaks and acid; her dynamic track selection has made her a dance floor favourite in her hometown and beyond. With over twenty years in the game, there are hardly any iconic clubs and festivals Sandrien has not played. She has graced the stages of Lowlands Festival, Awakenings, Dekmantel and Draaimolen in The Netherlands, Norway’s Monument, Rainbow Disco Club in Japan and the club booths of Berlin’s Berghain, Bassiani in Tbilisi, Basement NY, Tunnel Pereira and Womb in Tokyo. In Amsterdam, she used to be a resident of De School and its predecessor Trouw. The latter was home to Sandrien’s own techno club nights ‘Imprint’, through which she hosted a variety of national and international artists including Ben Sims, DVS1, Marcel Dettman, Oscar Mulero, Peter van Hoesen and Rødhåd. In addition, she was one of the founders of the city’s long-running LGBTQIA+ event series IsBurning. For years, Sandrien spent her weekdays working in Amsterdam’s renowned record stores Rush Hour and Killacutz. This speaks to the imagination of her incredible record collection and musical knowledge. Her extensive library is precisely why she’s a champion of playing longer DJ sets, during which she always manages to build a solid bridge between old-school techno, and adventurous fresh sounds. Sandrien’s experience and ability to adapt to any setting also shows in her love for playing back-to-back with other artists, including DJ Nobu, Ben Sims and Philippa Pacho. Occasionally, she likes to give the more house-leaning part of her collection a spin; high energy and acidic basslines woven together by the same solid groove her techno sets are known for.

As an organizer and resident of famed techno festival The Labyrinth, So has built a reputation as one of Japan’s most respected and reliable DJs. Over the past several years, So’s reputation in Japan has led to increasing opportunities overseas, including bookings at Waking Life, Garbicz, Nacht Digital, De School, Concrete, Tresor, aboutblank, Ankali, and Berghain. Now more than two decades into his career, So remains a powerful force in Japanese techno as his profile further rises across the globe.

Surgeon has been at the forefront of UK techno since 1992.
His debut EP is regarded by many as seminal, launching his career along with several early Downwards releases, causing a ripple of excitement through the techno cognoscenti of the time. Surgeon has been prolific since, with albums on Tresor and numerous Counterbalance and Dynamic Tension EPs as well as his 'Breaking The Frame’, ‘From Farthest Known Objects’ and ‘Luminosity Device’ LPs
“Over the course of his career, the Birmingham resident has perfected a unique and uncommonly effective production style. His is a tough techno sound with an industrial murk about it but also plenty of funk, swing and a sophisticated sense of dub-space learned in part from his Chain Reaction contemporaries in Berlin. Proving that hard can also be smart, sensuous and danceable, the influence of Surgeon on the current Ostgut/Berghain sound – DJs/producers like Marcel Dettmann, Shed et al – is substantial”. (Fact Magazine)
Further evidence of these multi-functional production skills can be seen on Surgeon's impressive remix CV, working with the biggest names in techno (Dave Clarke, Luke Slater/PAS, Green Velvet, Hardfloor, the Black Dog etc), Thom Yorke (Radiohead), Glasgow post-rock outfit Mogwai, old masters Faust and Coil, as well as artists such Moderat, Shed, Traversable Wormhole and Scuba.
Over the years Surgeon has shown his versatility as a musician with releases under his own name and with the Transcendence Orchestra project,
a co-operation with Daniel Bean on FatCat, NNA Tapes and Editions Mego which break all the usual boundaries of electronic dance music.
In 2023 Surgeon released his first full length album for 5 years on Tresor Records.
Recently dubbed by Fact magazine as “arguably the finest techno DJ in the world”, Surgeon is also naturally one of the most in-demand, with DJ mixes for Warp and Fabric and a schedule spread across Europe, America and Japan. He has played every key club/event/festival going; helped pioneer Birmingham’s House of God; and holds a residency at Tresor (Berlin). He is also one half of the much loved BMB (British Murder Boys) with Regis as well as performing improvised live sets solo and with Lady Starlight, Speedy J as ‘Multiples’ and alongside Daniel Bean as ‘The Transcendence Orchestra’
Surgeon is a selector of some skill and one of the most inventive, intuitive DJs out there. Using techno as a vehicle to carry his artistic message, he also mixes up everything from contemporary bass music to Rephlex-esque electronica to create a coherent, intense and righteously banging whole. More recently live improvisation has become a more important part of all of his performances.

Timnah lives, works and feeds the cats in the Northwestern extremities of Switzerland. Brought up in her parents’ jazz clubs and deeply influenced by her brother’s love for dub and soundsystem culture, she started DJing just after the massively feared Millenium Bug had threatened to offset our relation to time and space. Dedicated to drawing her own map of late 20th century sonic landscapes, she spent the early 2000s exploring 90s electronics including breakbeat, triphop, ambient techno, drum&bass, house and jungle. After a short but sweet excursion into producing in the early 2010s, Timnah dedicated herself fully to spinning the wheels and transversing genres, gravitating towards her current signature sound that spans immersive sound baths and intergalactic carpet rides in half-time. Timnah is a member of Amenthia Recordings and a recent addition to the A Walking Contradiction Collective.
