CIMÁTICA | Taller a càrrec de Puntalaberinto, Diego de León i Xavi Manzanares dAAX.
La cimática és la representació del so i la vibració de manera visual. El terme genèric per a aquest camp de la ciència és l'estudi dels fenòmens modals, retitulat cimática per Hans Jenny (1904 -1972).
Una de les primeres persones a registrar que un cos oscil·lant desplegava patrons regulars va ser Galileo Galilei l'any 1632.
En aquest taller explorarem els fenòmens modals vibratoris mitjançant diversos experiments amb transductors, altaveus, diferents materials i sintetitzadors modulars.
Construirem artefactes basats en les plaques d'Ernst Florenz Friedrich Chladni (1756 - 1956) fundador de l'acústica, on es fa vibrar la superfície d'una placa, diafragma o membrana i apareixen regions de desplaçament màxim i mínim en una cobertura prima de partícules, pasta o líquid. Al mitjà apareixen diferents patrons segons la geometria de la placa i la freqüència de la vibració.
Visualitzarem els patrons en líquids, metall, fluid no newtonià i podrem sentir aquestes ones sobre els nostres cossos.
A través de l'experimentació es poden observar els efectes del so i conseqüentment de les ones vibratòries en diferents medis físics.

Creació electrònica a partir de sons de la naturalesa | Taller a càrrec de Microfusa
Utilitzant mostres obtingudes al bosc en temps real, treballarem diferents estratègies de manipulació sonora per a convertir les diferents textures capturades en els sons base d'un tema musical de tall electrònic.
Aquest taller té dues parts ben diferenciades, primer ens endinsarem en la natura on capturarem els sons i posteriorment utilitzant la capacitat de re-síntesi dels softwares actuals farem servir aquestes mostres per a desenvolupar una idea musical.

Workshop | MICRODERIVAS taller d’exploració audiovisual des d’un nivell micro.
Taller a càrrec d’Arquea Colectivo.
Microderivas és un taller DIWO (Do it with others) en el qual els i les assistents construiran un petit microscopi amb una webcam i un senzill micro de contacte amb la finalitat d'explorar els elements naturals i sonors de l'entorn on es realitza el taller. Veurem i escoltarem el micro en macro. No són necessaris coneixements previs d'electrònica i soldadura.

Disseny sonor interactiu.
Taller impartit per Jordi Goberna i Ramir Martínez de l'escola microfusa.
Taller col·laboratiu en el qual els ponents realitzaran una introducció al disseny sonor mitjançant sintetitzadors, després de la qual els participants podran interactuar amb els dispositius de disseny sonor de manera lúdica i intuïtiva a través d'una sessió en directe utilitzant una plataforma informàtica i controladors MIDI. Atreveix-te a retorçar els paràmetres d'un sintetitzador i diverteix-te transformant el so d'un instrument electrònic!

Live Performance 1 | Interpretar, parar, repetir
a càrrec de Microfusa - Espanyol / Anglès - 90'
Primera part del taller col·laboratiu dedicat a realitzar una sessió en viu i en grup mitjançant mostres d'àudio. En aquesta primera sessió s'expliquen els conceptes bàsics d'un directe amb ordinador tant des del punt de vista tècnic (equip) com de l'artístic (repertori de temes musicals).

a càrrec de Microfusa - Espanyol / Anglès - 90'
Aquest taller explora com dur a terme un directe barrejant i processant pistes. En aquest taller s'exposa una configuració col·laborativa en la qual els participants poden intervenir mitjançant diferents superfícies de control MIDI (Push, Launchpad) sobre una sessió de Ableton Live processant pistes d'àudio amb tot tipus d'efectes i portant a terme un directe in-situ.

Una aproximació relacionada amb la història de compondre un àlbum
a càrrec de Wanderwelle - Anglès - 70''
Wanderwelle ens disseccionaran temes dels seus pròxims projectes i de projectes anteriors. Se centrarà en els elements que ajuden a contar una història. El duo tractarà diferents aproximacions sobre com establir un determinat estat d'ànim a partir de temes que usen enregistraments de camp, melodies i altres sons misteriosos.
Phil van Dulm i Alexander Bartels, coneguts musicalment com Wanderwelle, produeixen música electrònica que es sitúa entre l'ambient i el techno experimental. Amenaçants, misteriosos y melancòlics, amb alguna guspira ocasional d'esperança, els sons atmosfèrics de Wanderwelle transiten en un espectre de sentimientos molt ampli.

Construeix el teu propi hidrófon
a càrrec de Mutan Monkey Instruments - Espanyol / Anglès - 120'
Taller d'exploració sobre el so subaqüàtic. Construirem un hidròfon DIY per captar ambient aquàtic, i així explorar col·lectivament les possibilitats i/o manipulació del so mitjançant sistemes electrònics i processament d'efectes. Una bona manera d'iniciar-nos en el meravellós univers dels enregistraments de camp i així poder utilitzar els seus resultats com a fonts d'àudio per crear peces i collages sonors i/o en definitiva experimentar col·lectivament amb el so.
Un hidrófono és un transductor electro-acústic que converteix las vibracions sonores presentes en forma de presió dins d'agua en energia elèctrica. Amb un hidròfon és posible la grabació de qualsevol fenómen sonor en ambients aquàtics y subaquatics.

For the first of our Paral·lel Plus+ 2018 professional workshops we are collaborating with Familiar, an artistic collective focused on the construction of sound devices, the modification of circuits, and retrocomputing for creative purposes.
In this workshop we are going to build a simple DIY/DIWO sound machine. No prior experience is required in order to successfully assemble and customize your unit, though previous knowledge will of course be helpful. The workshop is designed to start from scratch and step by step, so let yourself be intimidated!
The Solarizator is a sound generator device that is powered by a flexible photovoltaic cell so that you don’t need to use any external batteries. The frequency of the sound mainly changes according with the amount of light it captures.

1:00 pm Virtual Modular Systems by Ramir Martínez
In this workshop we will learn to use one of the most similar software tools to modular analog environments: Reason. Best known in the field of production as a DAW focused on music creation with electronic devices, Reason hides a powerful secret: a connection system that emulates traditional modular systems, combining the latest generation of digital possibilities with emulation in the same software of control by voltage of digital devices.
With the help of Ramir Martínez (Kulyela) we will learn to use the rack of devices both for studio production and live performance, using the entire DAW as a true virtual modular system.

This workshop will be about the basics of an Eurorack synthesizer and will show how to perform based on the example of an Endorphin.es synthesizer.
Endorphin.es has been in the Eurorack market since 2012.
In the fall of 2017 they relocated to a new place, which is called Endorphin.es Space. It is located at C/ Mallorca 636, local 10-11 in Barcelona, and it is open for artists' projects and clients who want to test Endorphin.es (appointment required). They are based in the quiet area of El Clot in Barcelona, close to industrial El Poblenou, around 3-4 km to the city center.
Occasionally there are events happening in the Space, such as for example Modular Cafe Barcelona, which is the local version of the online underground Japanese Modular Cafe live streaming show.

In this second workshop of Microfusa we will explore different ways of producing music without a computer. Using exclusively analog instruments such as drum machines and synthesizers we will have a vision of the musical production outside the environment of DAW's and computers. Bruno Gallardo (Chawer, Qantic) will show through various instruments the creative reaches offered by the machines without a computer.

In this workshop held by Pedro Pina, from Cutoof Pro Audio, it will be shown why Ableton Live is such an essential tool for so many artists. Moreover by integrating this with dedicated tools such as Push, creativity an the possibilities that Ableton Live offers are virtually infinite in any stage of the creative process, starting from music creation to the stage of production or mixing. As it is a tool designed right from the start to work in real time any time, different techniques will be seen to prepare a live performance

Brief introduction to modular synthesizers followed by Q&A. Then a demo-concert will be arranged. Another Q&A will follow to end up. The idea of having two rounds of Q&A before and after the demo with sound is to encourage the assistants to interact and to explain how the things they have listened to were made.

Befaco
Befaco és un fabricant de sintetitzadors modulars de Barcelona. Es tracta d'un col·lectiu artístic fundat en 2010 i situat al centre de producció artística Hangar que treballa principalment amb els sintetitzadors modulars Eurorack. Befaco es centra a més amb la cultura de “fes-ho tu mateix”.
La seva activitat principal durant els últims sis anys ha estat organitzar workshops, introduir als músics en l'electrònica i recolzar a altres entusiastes de l'electrònica a immiscir-se en la música a través dels instruments musicals.
Actualment, el col·lectiu compta amb reconeixement mundial en l'escena internacional dels sintetitzadors. Els seus mòduls es distribueixen a Europa, Estats Units i Japó, i realitzen workshops sovint en ciutats com Berlín, Tòquio o Londres.
Befaco presentarà els seus sintetitzadors modulars, la seva filosofia i els seus dissenys en una xerrada demostració de 45 minuts.
Com la millor manera de demostrar les capacitats d'un instrument electrònic és a través del so, la presentació donarà pas a una demostració del sistema: alguns temes de prova i algunes idees de disseny de so, a més d'una introducció als sintetitzadors modulars i la seva implementació en un estudi de producció o equips en directe.

OVAL
Oval és un instrument musical que forma part de l'últim llançament d'instruments MIDI expressius, que busquen un tipus d'interpretació orgànica i intuïtiva, i per a això utilitzen la generació més nova de sensors de resposta. Oval funciona connectat a una aplicació per smartphone, tablet i ordinador. Inspirat en la família d'instruments acústics Hand Pads, permet total llibertat per crear sons i és una eina enfocada a l'aprenentatge i a la interpretació musical. La producció d'Oval s'ha finançat mitjançant una campanya de crowdfunding en la plataforma Kickstarter.
Oval és un projecte desenvolupat per l'empresa Ovalsound, creada en 2014 pel reconegut intèrpret de hang Ravid Goldschmidt, i per l'enginyer i tecnòleg creatiu Alex Posada, de l'estudi de disseny d'interacció MID.
Alex Posada i Ravid Goldschmidt presentaran el procés de creació, disseny, finançament i producció del projecte, i realitzaran una demostració de l'instrument.
